About Mrs. Stimmell  |  Senior High Guidance Counselor

Mrs. Kristen Stimmell is spending her 11th year at Fort Cherry as the Senior High Counselor who works with all students in grades 10 through 12.  She grew up in Washington, PA and graduated from Trinity High School.  She then attended Gannon University in Erie, PA where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and received a minor in Psychology.  Upon graduation, she participated in a one-semester internship at the FBI, and at the conclusion, found herself back at Gannon in pursuit of her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling.  She worked her way through graduate school as an Admissions Counselor for the college.  She began her secondary education career at Highlands High School in Natrona Heights briefly before finding her way to the Fort. In addition to her guidance duties, Mrs. Stimmell is also the Advisor for our chapter of the National Honor Society.
Mrs. Stimmell is married to her husband, Chris, and they have two daughters together.  She enjoys spending time with her family, photography and is a self-professed “TV junkie”.  Her motto when working with children, her own and the Fort’s, is that successful human beings are not created by what she does for them, but in what she can teach them to do for themselves.

About Mrs. Wilson | Junior High Guidance Counselor
After completing undergraduate studies at Washington & Jefferson College with a major in Sociology,  Mrs. Erin Wilson decided to pursue a graduate degree in School Counseling at Duquesne University.  Professional experience has led her to work with many elementary and junior high students over the past 10 years. Mrs. Wilson’s first professional school position was held at McGuffey School District in 2005. At that time, she also worked briefly as a Mobile Therapist for Behavioral Dynamics, counseling children and families in their homes. In the 2006 school year, Mrs. Wilson became the Junior High Counselor at Fort Cherry School District where she focuses her work with students in grades 7-9. Mrs. Wilson also specializes in coordinating the state tests for the Jr/Sr high building.
At home, Mrs. Wilson enjoys spending the days with her husband (Scott), daughter (Allie) and son (Ian).   In her free time she ‘practices’ cooking and yoga. Her family also includes a crazy Boston terrier named Pete, who is always good for a laugh.
