Guidelines for the 2019-20 Free & Reduced Lunch Application
All parents applying for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program may apply at www.schoolcafe.com.
A link can be found on the Fort Cherry website at www.fortcherry.org. Paper applications are available at your request.
This application must be completed EVERY school year to be considered for the program. Please complete the application as soon as possible.
Children will receive the nutrition they need to stay focused during the school day.
Communication about Lunch Accounts
Communication regarding a student’s school meal debt will be directed to the parent/guardian. For students in grades 9 - 12, communication also may be discreetly directed to a student by appropriate school personnel. When a student’s account is in the negative, they may only charge a reimbursable lunch – no extras will be permitted.
All balances should be paid in full at the end of the school year.
All parents/guardians and students are responsible for knowing and maintaining their account balances.
The account balances are available daily at www.schoolcafe.com.
Negative balance reports will be emailed home weekly for all students.
If we do not have an email for you, contact the Administration Offices at 724-796-1551 ext 2421.
Please make payments promptly after receiving such notice.
Guidelines about Confidential Sharing of Free/Reduced Lunch Status
In order for students and families to receive additional assistance and benefits from District programming, it is now required that a parent provides permission for their child's free and/or reduced lunch status to be shared confidentially among school personnel.
If your family participates in the free/lunch breakfast and lunch program, please go to the following link and complete the form for your family to participate in other District programs like Helping Hands, Angel Tree, Chromebook Fee Reduction, Pay to Participate Fee Reduction, Scholarships for SAT/ACT, and Academic Programming Assistance.

If you do not complete this form, your child and/or family will be unable to participate in the above programming.
The Food Service Department is looking forward to the 19-20 school year by helping your child grow and learn.
