• Formal Geometry

Formal Geometry:  Geometry is a course that is intended to provide the student with an appreciation of the structure of mathematics and its relationship to the real world.  It is a course that deals with the properties of measurement and the relationships of points, lines, angles, planes and surfaces.  Also included in the course, is an introduction to postulates, theorems, and geometric proof.  A strong understanding of Algebra is helpful.

    Scope of the course:
Throughout the year, we will be covering all topics of Formal Geometry. These include:
    -Reasoning and Proof
    -Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
    -Congruent Triangles
    -Relationships Within Triangles
    -Quadrilaterals
    - Area
    -Similarity
    -Right Triangle Trigonometry
    -Surface Area and Volume
    -Circles
    -Transformations
