Mr. Paul Spinden
Physical Education is a vital part of the total education of each individual. Physical Education is the process of learning through movement. The Physical Education program is seen as an important part of the total school curriculum. Physical Education focuses on wellness while developing the physical, mental, and social well being of each student. Instruction and participation in a variety of experiences shall enable the student to assess his/her own capabilities and limitations as well as stimulate self-discipline, develop and improve motor skills and physical fitness levels. Character building traits such as sportsmanship, leadership, cooperation, sociability, creativity, and fair play are emphasized.
Fort Cherry Elementary Physical Education program provides experiences for all students so they can develop a healthy self-image, a wholesome attitude toward activity, and physical fitness levels. Physical Education, as a part of education, should provide each boy and girl with carefully planned experiences that result in knowledge about the value of physical activity, the components of physical fitness, essential motor skills, and the social qualities that make for effective citizenship.
