Junior Senior High School

The Junior Senior High School (JSHS) is administered by a full-time staff consisting of a principal, a senior high school counselor, a junior high school counselor, a student supports coordinator, a full-time nurse, and a full-time secretary.

Secondary students may take advantage of a wide range of academic courses, including advanced placement courses in physics, biology, chemistry, calculus, pre-calculus, English literature, computer science principles, US history, psychology, statistics, and American government and politics. Students can also enroll in the University of Pittsburgh College in High School Program’s calculus and statistics courses or Community College of Beaver County for aviation science.

Individual interests can lead students toward other district elective offerings, such as psychology, sociology, art, music, band, and a variety of agricultural science courses. Students may elect to take Spanish or German as a world language elective.

The Junior/Senior HS has pupil services which include learning support, emotional support, life skills support, and gifted programming through on-site classrooms, always incorporating inclusive practices to the fullest extent possible.

The facility has a full complement of instructional rooms and areas to service the needs of students in grades 7-12. Highlighted among these areas are specific rooms for STEAM, computer applications, digital journalism, sound studio, agricultural science, and innovation lab for fabrication engineering. Students also have access to technologically integrated auditorium and physical fitness facilities.

All Fort Cherry students are issued a Chromebook to use as a resource. All classrooms have Promethean ActivPanel displays and access to high speed Wi-Fi.
