Dr. Craig is in her 30th year at the Fort Cherry School District. She began her educational career in the Erie City School District as a substitute teacher in 1993. Dr. Craig was an English Teacher at the Fort Cherry High School for 8 years, during which time she was Yearbook Sponsor, Senior Class Sponsor, Literary Yearbook Sponsor, and Department Chairperson. As a teacher, she was also an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh for 2 years. Dr. Craig spent 16 years as the Director of Curriculum serving K-12 students and staff at Fort Cherry School District before becoming the Junior High Principal in 2017, then the High School Principal in 2018.
Currently, Dr. Craig has served on a number of regional and state education committees, focus groups, and organizations. She is currently President of the Southwest Region of the PA Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD) and member of the state PASCD Executive Board and University of Pittsburgh College in High School Advisory Board. Other groups have included the Southwestern PA Aquaponics Consortium, Pittsburgh Personalized Learning Network, Computer Science for All Regional Working Group, Make to Manufacturing Pathway Group, Pittsburgh EdSurge Tech Leader Circle, Chatham University K-12 Advisory Board, and Carnegie Science Center Teacher Advisory Board.
Dr. Craig received her Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh (1992) and Secondary English Teaching Certificate from Gannon University (1993). She attended the University of Pittsburgh to earn her Masters of Education in Administrative and Policy Studies (1998), Secondary Principal certification (1998), Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction certification (1998), Doctorate of Education in School Leadership (2007), and Letter of Eligibility superintendent certification (2007).
Dr. Craig graduated from Girard High School in 1988. She has been married to her husband, Bill, for 27 years. They have a son and live nearby in South Fayette Township. Dr. Craig enjoys spending time reading, biking, visiting new places, watching her son's baseball games, and attending sports events with her family.
